great post! yet politely disagree (w/Osho here). although very well-delivered, to say that people are retarded says not only something about people, but also about the person saying so. democracy works within a family with children, or small communities, with older adults being able to provide the young'ns freedom to grow and to grow wise. urbanisation, industrialisation: not very conducive to providing a shared prosperity, with a thick layer of 'democracy' poured over individuals and communities alike, to manipulate (and enforce) agreement. not wanting to face the abuse of power of the state head-on we're not so much 'retarded' as rather opting for the way of least resistance.

we've had several bouts of anarchy during the 1970s and '80s among the serious squatter's groups (not-a-movement). they did manage to change public housing laws - but not the system.

Indeed, anarchy has three Laws - the Laws of Ethics, which are Natural Law expressed as the three things not to do.

And yes, We can choose leaders for Ourselves, but cannot claim authority over any Other who does not willingly and fully informed give consent to that authority.

Excellent piece!
